Angelika Dusk is a singer and songwriter who works on a regular basis with the award winning producer, arranger, songwriter, Rupert Christie (U2, Green Day, Coldplay, Lou Reed, Echo & The Bunnymen, Rebecca Ferguson, “Mamma Mia”). She has also worked with Jonny Lattimer (Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Tom Odell, Ella Eyre), Red Triangle Productions (One Direction, Olly Murs, Little Mix), and Ross Cullum (Tori Amos, Rufus Wainwright, Tears for Fears, Roxy Music) on her debut album Marionette, released in April 2015.
Angelika studied classical music at Brown University in the USA and at the London Centre of Contemporary Music in the UK, where she developed her songwriting abilities.
Her first single “Love on your own terms” from the EP “Telling Stories” and her hit single “Beautiful Love” (a co-operation with Greece’s most famous DJs Playmen) have both reached high airplay in the Greek radio stations. Angelika has performed at major Greek festivals, TV shows and in many live stages: opening for Boy George and Simple Minds at En Lefko Festival, opening for Kovacs (2015 & 2016) before an audience of 4000 people, opening for LP and Monophonics (2017) etc.
During the summer of 2017, Angelika was in the line-up of some of the country’s finest summer festivals (Matala Beach Festival, UP Festival, River Party).
She is well received by the Greek media with interviews in some of the most important newspapers, magazines, internet sites, blogs and portals. She has also done unplugged gigs on most major Greek radio stations (Red FM, Rock FM, Hit FM, Vima FM, En Lefko FM). Her work has been promoted in both RISE (former MTV) and Mad TV –Greece’s biggest music television channels– as well as in very important TV channels such as SKAI TV and Nova TV.
Her main influences are Florence and the Machine, Beyoncé, Jessie J, George Michael and the Editors among others.
Angelika is now working on her second album and wants to advance to a darker, edgier and rockier sound. Her lyrics for this album are very symbolic, contemplating death, troubled relationships and the struggling balance between self-preservation and self-destruction. Already two of her new songs have been singled out and played at major radio stations in Athens (EN LEFKO, PEPPER, ROCK FM, MUSIC) and Thessaloniki (1055 ROCK, FLY). At the same time, Angelika makes intensive rehearsals as she participates in the rock tribal musical HAIR that will be first hosted in Greece from November 15th in the Theater “Chora”. She will also appear as an opening act at Kaleo’s concerts on December in Athens and in Thessaloniki.
